Kinesiology Introduced in 1964, Kinesiology is a diagnostic form of biomechanics that analyzes and investigates human motion using the body's biofeedback system. Muscle testing is applied to the individual's unique physiology to identify imbalances in the body's physical, chemical, or emotional systems. This establishes the priority of the body's healing needs and evaluates energy transfomations created by both manual and non-manual therapeutic procedures. Treatment can include light massage to relax or stimulate key muscles at specific points on the body. Kinesiology is believed to work with the electromagnetic energies of the body to bring them into balance. Although there are many different methods for applying Kinesiology, a common one involves asking a question of the body, then pressing down on the extended arm of the patient. Resistance to lowering will have one meaning, an easily lowered arm another. The response is then interpreted by the practitioner.
